But can someone explain to me why people loved David Bowie so much?

I don't get it.

Everyone loves a guy who dies.

The way people deify the dead is crazy.

He was pretty much before my time even. He pioneered glam rock I guess, did the androgyny thing?

I wasn't ever a big fan?

Bowie was before my time too. But I've always enjoyed listening to him. He does have a haunting, mesmerizing quality to his voice. He's also always come off an extremely aloof and too cool for school. But I've never seen him take himself too seriously either. He just seemed like a class act.
