Top ranked state and major city for volunteer participation rate.
Idaho claimed #2 for states.
Can't imagine why those states claimed the top two spots.

Well, that and as their stats showed, some of that volunteer work wasn't as selfless as it would initially seem. Seems parents with children at home are more prone to being involved in volunteer organizations(which can be explained by PTA's, booster groups, and other volunteer event groups which benefit their children quite directly)... Of course, the same thing generally applies to where people tend to donate to charity, either someone they know benefits from that charity, or they benefited from that charity in the past themselves.Ishpeck wrote:I don't understand why volunteering is considered a virtuous thing in the first place. You're just choosing do to things. So what?
Nor do I understand why selflessness is considered inherently virtuous.TheDeamon wrote:Well, that and as their stats showed, some of that volunteer work wasn't as selfless as it would initially seem.
